1940s

The first mobile boat hoist was designed and manufactured in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

1950s

Marine Travelift is officially established in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

1960s

Marine Travelift introduces the first open-end boat lift design for faster handling of sailboats’ masts and other large vessels.

1970s

Marine Travelift builds a 250-ton capacity mobile boat hoist, the world’s largest capacity at the time.

1980s

Marine Travelift launches the innovative BFM (Beam Forward Machine) Series of mobile marina and shipyard boat lifts.

1990s

Marine Travelift introduces their marina forklift line in the early 1990s.

Late 1990s

Marine Travelift delivers 800-ton mobile boat hoist, largest in the world at the time.

2000s

Marine Travelift launches the leading BFMII Series which now includes better speeds, remote diagnostics, touchscreen load readout, industrial tires, superior corrosion-resistant paint system, and more.

2010

Marine Travelift delivers 1,000 metric ton mobile boat hoist, largest in the world.

2010s

Marine Travelift listens to customer needs and introduces new and improved BFMII boat hoist and new and expanded Hydro Drive marine forklift lineup including delivering a 52,000 lbs. capacity forklift.

2020

Today Marine Travelift has over 4,500 boat handling equipment products in operation worldwide.
