Sturgeon Bay, WI – Galati Yacht Sales, in Anna Maria, Florida, recently increased their yard’s lifting capacity to 187,000 lbs. with the installation of a new 85 BFMII mobile boat hoist from Marine Travelift. Their new unit is the fourth Marine Travelift machine this location has had and replaces an older 75 BFM Marine Travelift machine onsite that had a lifting capacity of 165,000 lbs. The additional lift capacity is necessary as customers’ demands for larger boats continue to increase and Galati Yacht Sales can now easily haul and handle vessels up to 82’.

This Galati location is one of their 11 throughout the Gulf Coast region and they specialize in new and brokerage luxury yacht sales and service. A family owned and operated business, which is one of only five dealers to be inducted into Boating Industry’s Hall of Fame, has built its reputation on the “Galati Difference”. This is a term used to describe the level of service Galati believes each one of their clients deserve and their Marine Travelift equipment continues to be a big part of that.

“Our previous 2004 Marine Travelift was in great shape,” said Mike Galati, head of the customer support team for GYS. “However, as the average size of boats we sell continues to increase, we need a lift that can handle the larger size. Our marina facility is set up to handle larger yachts as we have the capacity, slips and docks, area on the hard and service team, but until we added the new boat hoist our lift capacity was limiting us.”

The Marine Travelift 85 BFMII is designed with a similar footprint to their previous 75-ton unit, making the upgrade seamless and compatible with their facility’s current infrastructure. The new 85 BFMII mobile boat hoist offers the latest in innovation, technology and performance. In addition, Marine Travelift designed and engineered this machine based on decades of experience working with machine operators and marinas to gather their feedback and create a boat hoist with all the details that performs at the highest level. Galati’s unit is equipped with a wireless remote control which includes convenient digital machine information readouts, a top beam extension for improved clearance for all vessels, LED lights for visibility in all weather conditions and distinct custom Galati paint colors.

“The Marine Travelift team is always excited to work and grow with longtime customers so we were very pleased to once again partner with Galati Yacht Sales for their newest mobile boat hoist,” said Erich Pfeifer, President & CEO at Marine Travelift. “The unique design of the 85 BFMII makes it a turnkey solution for most marinas looking to upgrade their hoisting capacity while maintaining their current piers and environment.”

Another key feature that has resulted in increased efficiency for GYS is Marine Travelift’s standard intelligent remote diagnostics. “The bluetooth technology gives us the ability to ‘phone home’ and receive remote diagnostics from Marine Travelift CustomerCare team. That has been a huge advantage for us, as we hone the performance of the new lift,” said Galati.
